What "cat-friendly boarding" actually means
A lot of facilities advertise cat boarding but really just have a small room next to the dog kennels. That doesn't work. Cats hear and smell stress in dogs from across a corridor, and an anxious cat will stop eating, stop using the litter, and develop UTI symptoms within a couple of days. Our cat boarding is on a separate floor with its own ventilation. Each guest cat has their own room with multi-level perches, a hiding box for safety, soft bedding away from the door, a private litter area refreshed at least twice a day, and a window with controlled light. We also keep visiting dogs out of the cat zone entirely — no exceptions.
